About Little Oak Where every child’s journey begins with joy.
Our Mission

To cultivate love of learning from an early age.

The teachers and staff at Little Oak Preschool are dedicated to fulfilling the academy’s mission:

"To cultivate wisdom and respect in children from an early age, such that the love of learning and value of self and others continue to grow all throughout life."
Our Goals

Helping children grow in every area.

  • 🌱Motivate interest in learning by encouraging new experiences.
  • 💛Help children grow emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
  • 🏡Create a strong bond between home and school for each child.
  • 🤝Enhance and support the development of friendships between peers.

Our Curriculum

Child-centered experiences that support natural development.

Our curriculum is child-centered and thoughtfully integrates Montessori principles with play-based learning to support each child’s natural development. Each week, children explore new themes through hands-on experiences in art, music, science, cooking, nutrition, socialization, critical thinking, community, multicultural awareness, and language arts.

We incorporate STEAM learning to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and innovation, while also offering a variety of extracurricular activities that enrich each child’s learning experience. Our Kindergarten Readiness Program is implemented in our Pre-K classrooms to help prepare students for a successful transition into kindergarten.

Through age-appropriate, intentional lesson planning, our Pre-K students build strong foundations in social interaction, group collaboration, independence, and academic skills.

Our Teachers

Our greatest strength is the talent and care of our staff.

At Little Oak, we believe our greatest strength lies in the talents and skills of our staff. Our teachers are highly educated and have deep expertise in early childhood education and preschool curriculum, but most importantly, they are attentive, warm, and nurturing. They just love children and are passionate about what they do, every day.

Our teachers appreciate that each child has unique strengths, interests, needs, and learning styles. Teachers actively engage with children in child-directed play, care-giving, and teacher-inspired activities within a predictable and stable daily schedule. They are intentional and authentic.

The trust that is developed between child and teacher provides the support that is needed for each child to reach their highest potential: it enables them to discover their interests, fully explore their intrinsic curiosity and creativity, and develop self-confidence, independence, and satisfying peer relationships.

Our Families

Families are an important part of the school community.

We strongly encourage our parents to volunteer, and welcome them to participate in their child’s school experience. There are so many different ways to be involved, and we are always excited when parents bring their own unique offerings to our general program or their child’s specific classroom.

  • 📅Join us for classroom events, celebrations, and special theme days.
  • 🎨Share a talent, hobby, or cultural tradition with the class.
  • 📖Volunteer to read stories or lead a hands-on activity.
  • 🌍Help us celebrate the diversity and richness of our community.
